Medirest in High Wycombe is seeking a reliable Helpdesk & Switchboard Operator to be the first point of contact for callers and to help keep critical communications running smoothly.

This weekend, zero-hour role requires a confident communicator who stays calm under pressure, with good IT skills to answer calls, monitor alarms, record information, and provide essential administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous office, helpdesk or switchboard experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good IT and administrative skills
• Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
• Flexible approach to working weekends and varying shift patterns

Responsibilities

• Operate a computer-based switchboard system.
• Answer and manage incoming calls and service requests.
• Monitor and respond to alarms, including fire, trauma and security alerts.
• Record and maintain accurate information and logs.
• Provide administrative and clerical support as required.
• Respond confidently and professionally to emergency situations.
• Liaise with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.
