Job summary

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Northwich is seeking a Telephonist to join a busy day-to-day contact centre. You will swiftly direct callers, action emergency lines and keep databases up to date, with duties across online forms and alarm handling.

The role includes working a 24/7 rota, including nights and bank holidays, requiring flexibility, confidence, and a positive, can-do attitude. Prior experience in a busy switchboard is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must be able to remain calm and efficient when handling emergencies.
• Flexible approach to cover colleagues’ absence and 24/7 rota.
• Proficient with Office 365 and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Actioning all emergency calls received.
• Programming pagers as requested.
• Create and update department rotas both online and in print.
• Update online databases accurately.
• Complete online forms and manage Trust systems.
• Handle Estate alarms and escalate as required.
• Support 24/7 rota coverage including nights, weekends and holidays.
