Job summary

RunThrough is the UK's biggest running event company, delivering high-quality course and village experiences across the region. The Event Manager will own on-site delivery, setting up and overseeing the course to ensure safe, well-marked and smooth participant experiences during weekend events.

You'll work with the wider team, attend weekly planning, and spend most time on-site. This role suits someone who loves running and events, thrives outdoors, and enjoys a flexible weekend pattern.

Qualifications

• Experience in event delivery, operations or volunteering at mass-participation or sporting events.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident in leading teams including staff and volunteers.
• Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Hands-on, proactive attitude with outdoors in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead setup, delivery, and breakdown of course or village at weekend events.
• Oversee on-the-day course operations to ensure safety, timing, and schedule adherence.
• Mark out courses with signage, barriers and cones; pre-walk or drive route.
• Manage and brief course marshals, staff and volunteers.
• Coordinate with suppliers on-site (timing, medical, etc.).
• Resolve course or village issues as they arise to maintain flow and safety.
• Provide a safe, well-organised, welcoming experience for participants.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, safety and efficiency.
• Support logistics including equipment loading, transport and pack-down.
• Attend weekly planning meetings for upcoming events.
