Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Weekend Cook in Southport to provide fresh, nutritious meals for residents and staff within an Approved Premises. The role offers set weekend hours, with Saturday and Sunday shifts from 8:00am to 2:00pm, paying £12.91 per hour.

Applicants must be 18+, with strong cooking and food safety skills, and the ability to work independently. You will own the kitchen on weekends, prepare meals, maintain hygiene standards and support residents returning to the community.

Qualifications

• Previous professional cooking or catering experience is essential.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to work independently, manage time and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and confident working alone.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff.
• Take responsibility for the kitchen and ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards in kitchen and dining areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures at all times.
• Check stock levels and order or replenish ingredients and supplies as needed.
• Work closely with colleagues and communicate clearly to ensure smooth service.
• Work confidently and safely when operating independently.
