Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is hiring a Weekend Cook in Southport to provide fresh, nutritious meals for residents and staff within an Approved Premises. The role is a fixed weekend position with set hours, offering consistency by working every Saturday and Sunday while weekdays are free.

You’ll own the kitchen, work independently, and use your cooking skills to prepare meals people can enjoy. Previous professional cooking or catering experience and knowledge of food safety are essential.

• Previous experience in a professional cooking or catering role is essential.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• Able to work independently, manage your time and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and confident working alone.
• Positive and flexible approach, with the ability to work well with others and follow procedures.
• Genuine passion for cooking and providing good-quality meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff.
• Take responsibility for the kitchen and ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures at all times.
• Check stock levels and order or replenish ingredients and supplies when required.
• Work closely with colleagues and communicate clearly to ensure the service runs smoothly.
• Work confidently and safely when working independently.
