Job summary

Sodexo Group is looking for a Weekend Cook in Southport to prepare nutritious meals for residents and staff. The role offers set weekend hours (Sat and Sun, 8:00–14:00) with consistent scheduling and the chance to work independently in the kitchen.

You will ensure meals are prepared to high standards with attention to food safety. Experience in professional cooking or catering is essential, with a passion for quality meals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional cooking or catering role is essential.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• The ability to work independently, manage your time and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and confident working alone.
• A positive and flexible approach, with the ability to work well with others and follow procedures.
• A genuine passion for cooking and providing good-quality meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff.
• Take responsibility for the kitchen and make sure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures at all times.
• Check stock levels and order or replenish ingredients and supplies when required.
• Work closely with colleagues and communicate clearly to ensure the service runs smoothly.
• Work confidently and safely when working independently.
