Job summary

Sodexo in Carlisle City Centre is seeking a Weekend Cook to join our team. The role focuses on preparing and serving meals for residents and staff during weekend shifts, with approximately 20 guests to cater for.

You will work Saturday 12:00–18:00 and Sunday 12:00–18:00, earning £13.01 per hour for 12 hours weekly. Training for food safety can be provided; no formal qualification required, but a passion for good food and independence is valued.

• Experience as a Cook or Chef in catering environment.
• Enjoys preparing fresh, home-style food.
• Confident working independently and managing workload.
• Understands food hygiene and safe practices.

Responsibilities

Sodexo is looking for a Weekend Cook to join our team at a National Probation Service Approved Premises in CarlisleCity Centre .

This is a greatopportunity for an experienced Cook, Chef or someone with a passion forpreparing good food who is looking for regular weekend hours alongside othercommitments.

You'll be cooking for approximately 20 guests , making this a manageable kitchen environment where you can take pride in the food youprepare.

What you'll be doing

You'll take charge ofthe kitchen during your weekend shifts, preparing and serving meals forresidents and staff.

Saturday:

• Prepare and serve brunch
• Prepare food for approximately 20 guests
• Saturday meal service is at 4:30pm
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly

Sunday:

• Prepare and serve a traditional roast dinner
• Prepare and serve a pudding
• Sunday meal service is at 4:30pm
• You'll have flexibility around your start time to allow you to prepare everything for service

You'll be workingindependently in the kitchen, but you won't be responsible for the whole site.There are other members of staff on site, including cleaners, who support thewider operation.

What we're looking for

We're looking forsomeone who:

• Has previous experience as a Cook, Chef or within a catering environment
• Enjoys preparing fresh, home-style food
• Is confident working independently
• Can organise their own workload and manage the kitchen
• Takes pride in preparing and serving good-quality meals
• Understands the importance of food hygiene and safe working practices

Don't have a formalfood safety qualification? That's okay . We can provide the necessary training to help you succeed in the role.

We're more interestedin finding someone with good cooking skills, a positive attitude and a genuinepassion for food .

The hours

12 hours per week

Saturday & Sunday

12:00pm – 6:00pm

£13.01 per hour

We're also able tooffer some flexibility around your start time, provided you're available forthe required meal service .
