Chestnut Lodge care home is looking for a Weekend Cook to join their team, cooking for our residents on Saturdays 10-3 and Sundays 9-3.

The Weekend Cook is an important part of our team, providing nutritious hearty foods for our service users.

About us

Bramley Health is a specialist health and social care provider supporting men and women of working age with mental health challenges within our homes, aiming to maximize their independence and quality of life.

Chestnut Lodge is a 45-bed modern care home, recently renovated, with well-maintained grounds and large communal areas for our residents. It features a new kitchen for you to utilize.

About the role

Nutrition is vital in providing excellent care. As a Weekend Cook, you will prepare meals that meet dietary and cultural requirements, demonstrating a genuine interest in our residents' wellbeing.

Responsibilities

1. Preparing nutritious meals in accordance with guidelines and requirements.
2. Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment.
3. Maintaining inventory of kitchen supplies.
4. Applying knowledge of HACCP and current food safety regulations.
5. Engaging with residents to reflect their food preferences.
6. Holding Food Hygiene Level 2 certification.
7. Having previous experience in food preparation within a commercial, domestic, hospital, or care setting.
8. Possessing a warm, approachable personality to interact with residents and vulnerable adults effectively.
