Glenhurst Lodge Care Home - Weekend Cook Position

Glenhurst Lodge care home is looking for a Weekend Cook to join their team, cooking for our residents on Saturdays 10-3 and Sundays 9-3 (enhanced rate of x1.25 for Sundays).

The Weekend Cook plays a vital role in our team, providing nutritious and hearty meals for our service users.

About us

Bramley Health is a specialist health and social care provider supporting men and women of working age with various mental health challenges, helping them maximize their independence and live fulfilling lives.

Glenhurst Lodge is a 22-bed care home for male service users, located in Maidstone, featuring beautiful grounds and spacious communal areas.

About the role

Nutrition is key to delivering quality care. As a Weekend Cook, you will ensure dietary and cultural requirements are met, serving meals that promote wellbeing.

Responsibilities
  1. Preparing nutritious meals according to guidelines and requirements
  2. Daily cleaning and maintenance of kitchen and equipment
  3. Maintaining inventory of kitchen supplies
  4. Applying knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations
  5. Engaging with service users to reflect their food preferences
  6. Holding Food Hygiene Level 2 certification
  7. Previous experience in food preparation in a commercial, domestic, hospital, or care setting
  8. Having a warm, approachable personality to interact with service users and vulnerable adults
