Job summary

MBDA is offering a 10‑week Summer Placement in 2027 for an Algorithms Engineer within the Weapon Systems Algorithms & Performance team. The role focuses on developing and optimising algorithms for weapon systems and exposure to projects like FCAS, STRATUS and DragonFire.

Your time will combine university learning with real‑world engineering challenges, including exposure to MATLAB and Python, and you'll work in a dynamic hybrid environment with on‑site days 2–3 per week.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate working towards a degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science.
• We are particularly interested in applicants with a strong interest in mathematics and applying mathematical techniques to engineering problems.
• Experience in programming for scientific/engineering applications (e.g. MATLAB, Python) would be an advantage.
