Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Waterfront Daywork Multi Skilled Operative to support frontline waterfront operations at HM Naval Base Clyde, Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute. The role is full-time and on-site, with a 36-hour week and Monday to Thursday scheduling.

As part of a fast-paced defence environment, you will provide multi-skilled support across activities ensuring vessels, equipment, and waterfront facilities remain operational and safe. Security clearance and related training are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in waterfront, marine, maritime, engineering, industrial or operational support activities.
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures and safe working practices.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements within an operational environment.
• Experience of quality assurance processes and working to established standards.
• Knowledge of manual handling activities and risk assessment principles.

Responsibilities

• Supporting waterfront operations to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to schedule.
• Following established procedures and safe systems of work while maintaining the highest operational standards.
• Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and productivity.
• Working in accordance with health, safety and environmental requirements across the site.
• Performing a variety of operational and engineering support activities within your skills, training and capability
