Job summary

Portsmouth Water is seeking a skilled Process Operator to operate, monitor and control machinery across our Hampshire and West Sussex sites. The role involves outdoor work, working at height and on-call rotations 1 in 4 weeks to support 365-day operations.

You will handle water treatment processes, manage chemicals, collect data and ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• GCSE English, Maths and Science at A-C or Level 2 Functional Skills.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and basic hydraulic principles.
• Experience with HMI / touchscreen devices; computer and smartphone literate.

Responsibilities

• Visit water treatment works, pumping stations and reservoirs to monitor and maintain site performance.
• Collect and record water quality data and asset performance.
• Operate and maintain treatment assets including chemical dosing and filtration processes.
• Monitor and respond to external activities near works affecting water sources.
• Ensure site cleanliness, water quality and hygiene meet company standards.
