Job summary

Portsmouth Water is seeking a Process Operator to operate, control and monitor machinery across Hampshire and West Sussex. The role involves outdoor work, working at height, confined spaces and an on-call rota around the clock.

You will monitor water quality and asset performance, collect data, and ensure adherence to Water Production procedures and safety standards (OFWAT, DWI, EA, EUSR). A full UK driving licence and BPSS checks may apply.

Qualifications

• GCSE English, Maths and a Science subject (A*-C) or Level 2 functional skills.
• Adaptable with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Independent thinker with troubleshooting ability.
• Collaborative yet able to work independently; share knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Visit water treatment works, pumping stations and reservoirs to monitor performance.
• Collect water quality data and record routine activities.
• Operate and maintain treatment assets and monitor samples.
• Control clean water processes: dosing, coagulation, filtration, disinfection.
