Job summary

Mitie Group plc. invites applications for a Mobile Water Hygiene Technician to perform Legionella monitoring, sampling, testing and basic plumbing tasks across client sites in London. The role involves a mix of field work and documentation to keep systems compliant and safe.

The successful candidate will have experience in compliance servicing or water treatment, strong IT skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining high-quality service standards.

Qualifications

• Essential: experience within Compliance Servicing, Legionella Monitoring or Water Treatment.
• Desirable: Advanced knowledge and experience of maintaining water systems.
• Necessary: Basic IT skills, tablets/mobile devices and Microsoft programmes.
• Strong communication skills required in every aspect of the role.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine monitoring tasks in line with L8 APC, mobile to client sites and ensure compliance.
• Act as ambassador for Mitie when visiting customers’ sites.
• Maintain water log books and document samples per procedures.
• Take water samples from multiple properties and record results.
• Carry out water system cleaning and disinfection per L8 and procedures.
• Service and maintain thermostatic mixing valves and basic plumbing.
• Work on heating and chilled water systems and dosing systems where required.
• Communicate daily with service department on task progress.
• Keep stock of chemicals and materials; keep equipment clean and maintained.

HOURS: 40 hours per week

Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Mobile Water Hygiene Technician to complete a range of Legionella maintenance PPMs, remedial cleaning, sampling, chemical testing, minor plumbing and electro / mechanical tasks to meet clients' requirements. Are you a person who can deliver a high quality of service, with a keen eye for detail?

Main Duties

• Completion of routine monitoring tasks in line with the Approved Code of Practice L8. This is a mobile role, travelling to client sites and completing the necessary tasks to maintain compliance.
• To be an ambassador for Mitie whilst visiting customers sites.
• Maintain our customer's water log books and complete the necessary documentation in accordance with current guidelines and company policy.
• To take a variety of water samples from multiple sector properties and document these samples in line with company procedures.
• Carry out water system clean and disinfections in accordance with the Approved Code of Practice L8 and company procedures.
• Testing, servicing and maintaining of thermostatic mixing valves and basic plumbing works where required.
• The ability to complete works on heating and chilled water systems and chlorine dioxide / dosing systems is desirable but not essential.
• To communicate on a daily basis to the service department that all tasks are carried out efficiently.
• Maintain adequate stocks of chemicals and materials as necessary.
• Ensure that any equipment that you are responsible is kept clean and is properly maintained.

• Someone with previous experience within Compliance Servicing, Legionella Monitoring or Water Treatment is essential.
• Advanced knowledge and experience of maintaining water systems is desirable.
• Basic IT skills, including the use of tablets / mobile devices and Microsoft programmes are necessary.
• The ability to communicate efficiently and effectively is required in every part of this role.
• You will be required to work alone and as part of a team and should thrive in both environments.
