Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Mobile Water Hygiene Technician in London to perform Legionella maintenance, sampling, and water system care across client sites. This is a 40-hour week role with a focus on quality service and safety.

You will work both independently and as part of a team, maintaining water log books, recording samples, and supporting compliance with L8 guidelines. Relevant experience in compliance servicing or water treatment is essential, with IT skills and strong communication a must.

Qualifications

• Experience in Compliance Servicing, Legionella Monitoring or Water Treatment is essential.
• Advanced knowledge and experience in maintaining water systems is desirable.
• Basic IT skills, including tablets/mobile devices and Microsoft programs, are necessary.
• Strong communication skills are required in every part of the role.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team; time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine monitoring tasks in line with the Approved Code of Practice L8; mobile role visiting client sites.
• Maintain customer water log books and complete documentation per guidelines.
• Take water samples from multiple properties and document results.
• Carry out water system disinfections and cleaning per L8 and company procedures.
• Test, service and maintain thermostatic mixing valves and basic plumbing where required.
• Communicate daily with the service department to report task progress and needs.
• Maintain stocks of chemicals and materials and keep equipment clean and well-maintained.

We are currently looking for a Mobile Water Hygiene Technician to complete a range of Legionella maintenance PPMs, remedial cleaning, sampling, chemical testing, minor plumbing and electro / mechanical tasks to meet clients' requirements. Are you a person who can deliver a high quality of service, with a keen eye for detail?

Main Duties

• Completion of routine monitoring tasks in line with the Approved Code of Practice L8. This is a mobile role, travelling to client sites and completing the necessary tasks to maintain compliance.
• To be an ambassador for Mitie whilst visiting customers sites.
• Maintain our customer's water log books and complete the necessary documentation in accordance with current guidelines and company policy.
• To take a variety of water samples from multiple sector properties and document these samples in line with company procedures.
• Carry out water system clean and disinfections in accordance with the Approved Code of Practice L8 and company procedures.
• Testing, servicing and maintaining of thermostatic mixing valves and basic plumbing works where required.
• The ability to complete works on heating and chilled water systems and chlorine dioxide / dosing systems is desirable but not essential.
• To communicate on a daily basis to the service department that all tasks are carried out efficiently.
• Maintain adequate stocks of chemicals and materials as necessary.
• Ensure that any equipment that you are responsible is kept clean and is properly maintained.
