Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Water Technician - Level 1 to join our water compliance team in Greater Manchester and the North West. You will support customers across sites, carrying out Legionella-related tasks and routine monitoring.

The role offers ongoing training and development to progress into higher‑level technical positions with varied site work across Greater Manchester and the North West.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in Water Hygiene and Legionella monitoring preferred.
• Transferable skills from plumbing, facilities management, or maintenance welcome.
• Understanding of ACoP L8 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Legionella compliance tasks including temperature monitoring and water sampling.
• Perform routine monitoring in line with ACoP L8 and company procedures.
• Test and service thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) and assist water system cleaning/disinfection.
• Maintain accurate water hygiene logbooks and compliance documentation.

Role Responsibilities

• Carry out Legionella compliance tasks including temperature monitoring, water sampling, expansion vessel flushing and little-used outlet flushing.
• Complete routine monitoring activities in line with ACoP L8 requirements and company procedures.
• Test and service thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) and support water system cleaning and disinfection activities.
• Maintain accurate water hygiene logbooks and compliance documentation.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within Water Hygiene, Legionella Monitoring, Compliance Servicing or Water Treatment is desirable.
• Candidates with transferable skills from plumbing, facilities management or maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of water systems and ACoP L8 requirements would be advantageous.
• Tank cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
