Job summary

Alexander Associates Limited is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Old Trafford, Manchester. The role focuses on commercial management, cost control, client and subcontractor relationships, and ensuring project profitability from inception through completion.

You will work closely with project managers and design engineers in a fast-paced environment, applying NEC3/NEC4 knowledge and strong numerical/analytical skills to deliver accurate cost control and risk management across

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ Quantity Surveying experience within the water sector.
• Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Good understanding of commercial processes and cost management.
• Knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit and monitor payment applications.
• Track invoices, certificates and payment schedules.
• Raise Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and manage project variations and change events.
• Support project estimating and cost forecasting.
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconcilations (CVRs).
• Monitor project costs, purchase orders and commercial performance.
• Review contracts and ensure contractual requirements are met.
• Assist with contract terms and conditions reviews.
• Prepare subcontract documentation and support subcontract management.
• Monitor project progress against programme delivery.
• Build effective relationships with client commercial teams.
• Support day-to-day quantity surveying activities.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
