Job summary

Alexander Associates in Rickmansworth, London (Hybrid) is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial performance on major water and infrastructure projects. You will oversee cost management, contracts, and payments, build client relationships, mentor junior team members, and drive continuous improvement in commercial processes.

Strong NEC contracts experience and chartered status preferred; degree in Quantity Surveying required.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
Working towards or holding chartered membership of a recognised institution.
Experience in utilities, water, civil engineering, infrastructure or MEICA.
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

Take commercial responsibility for assigned projects and work packages.
Monitor and control project costs with design, construction and supply chain teams.
Build and maintain productive client relationships to ensure objectives.
Manage contracts including notices and correspondence.
Prepare and issue subcontract documentation and manage payments, valuations, and final accounts.
Produce cost reports, budgets and forecasts and provide commercial updates.
Mentor junior members of the commercial team and drive improvements.
