Job summary

Wessex Water is seeking a Process Scientist to join a multi-disciplinary team in Somerset, with mix of office and field work. The role covers water recycling centres and regulatory compliance across the region, including travel within Somerset.

You will support operations, improve process performance, and engage with stakeholders to meet environmental standards. You will bring expertise in monitoring and optimising processes to meet permits, with a methodical, analytical approach and a focus on

Qualifications

• Degree in science, environment or engineering related field.
• Experience with wastewater or environmental permitting and treatment processes.
• COSHH knowledge is highly desirable.
• IT literacy and good data analysis skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimise sewage treatment processes.
• Provide process support to operational staff during issues.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and quality standards.
• Lead initiatives to reduce operating costs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on new plant installations.
