Job summary

Wessex Water Services is seeking a proactive field operative to support rainwater separation projects across the sewerage network. You will help identify opportunities to remove rainwater from foul sewers, reducing flood risk and pollution incidents while engaging with customers and communities.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic, proactive and eager to learn.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in face-to-face interactions.
• Enjoy working outdoors and carrying out practical investigations.
• Effective team player across different teams.
• Basic understanding of sewerage networks, drainage systems or wastewater operations.
• Willing to develop knowledge of rainwater separation and sustainable drainage solutions.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and work safely.
• Experience in an operational or field-based environment (desirable).
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Identify rainwater separation opportunities to reduce flooding and pollution.
• Undertake site visits, investigations and data gathering to remove rainwater from foul sewers.
• Collaborate with Senior Rainwater Technicians and other teams from assessment to completion.
• Engage with customers to explain benefits and deliver practical drainage solutions.
• Carry out property surveys and drainage investigations.
• Trace drainage systems and identify misconnections.
• Assist with project delivery on site and collect field data.
• Work outdoors in diverse environments and locations.
• Maintain high health and safety standards at all times.
• Deliver professional customer service and represent the business.
