Job summary

Network Plus is seeking a skilled Plumbing Technician to support United Utilities on the North West water mains rehab contract. You will visit customer properties to diagnose and fix water-related issues, working closely with Customer Teams and site colleagues to ensure fast resolutions and minimum repeat contacts.

The role requires a recognised plumbing qualification or equivalent experience, strong fault-diagnosis ability, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in fault finding and diagnosing plumbing issues.
• Experience dealing with blockages, restricted supplies and low-pressure issues.
• Good understanding of domestic water systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative when diagnosing faults.
• Valid UK driving licence and ability to use mobile tech for visits.
• Willing to work across the North West (Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester, Lancashire).

Responsibilities

• Attend customer properties to investigate and resolve reports of poor pressure, restricted supply, loss of water supply and other water-related issues.
• Organise and undertake inspection, cleaning, repair or replacement of fittings and appliances affected by works.
• Carry out diagnostic checks to identify fault causes within network or customer plumbing.
• Undertake minor plumbing repairs and clearance of blockages where appropriate.
• Investigate issues from planned shut-offs and rehabilitation works and escalate as needed.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to customers with professional handling.
• Accurately record visits, investigations and works using company systems.
• Collaborate with Customer Managers and operational teams to improve customer outcomes.
• Ensure activities align with procedures, safety, and industry standards.
• Support wider customer-focused activities including proactive visits and information distribution.
