Job summary

IES Utilities Group Ltd in Horsham is seeking an experienced Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Operative to carry out reactive and planned maintenance on clean water and wastewater networks. You will join a field-based team reporting to the Contracts Manager to ensure safe, compliant and timely delivery of works.

Qualifications

• Experience in utilities, construction, highways or civil engineering environments.
• Experience carrying out excavation, reinstatement and repair activities.
• Knowledge of safe digging practices and utility network operations.
• Team player with ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible hours including emergency call-out requirements where applicable.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out excavation, repair, reinstatement and maintenance on water networks and assets.
• Undertake reactive repairs to leaking mains, service pipes and infrastructure.
• Assist with planned maintenance, valve operations, flushing and asset inspections.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
• Report hazards and complete digital records and reports.
