Job summary

Lanes Group, a leading nationwide utility services provider, is seeking a proactive utility operative to support repair, maintenance and installation of clean water network assets across the Severn Trent Water contract. You will work with a Team Leader to deliver safe, high-quality services to customers across the network.

You will assist with excavation, reinstatement, and general site activities, while safely using tools and following health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Good work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the repair, maintenance, and installation of clean water network assets.
• Assist with excavation, reinstatement, and general site activities.
• Safely use tools, equipment, vehicles, and plant in line with training and company procedures.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and water hygiene requirements.
• Maintain safe, clean, and secure work sites.
• Assist with traffic management and site safety measures where required.
• Work alongside the Team Leader to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.
• Communicate professionally with customers, the public, and other stakeholders.
• Complete basic documentation and report any incidents, defects, or safety concerns.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to build skills and knowledge.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required
