Job summary

Severn Trent is recruiting a Network Construction Operative to deliver mains renewal projects across a regional site. You’ll work in a team, undertake excavation, installation, testing and commissioning of new mains and assets, ensuring safe, reliable water supply with minimal disruption to customers.

The role involves large-scale on-site construction, a 42-hour week (Mon-Fri, 7:30-16:30, with 4pm finish on Fridays) and opportunities with award-winning training and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence and ideally National Water Hygiene and NRSWA.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Identify hazards and document findings in a daily dynamic risk assessment.
• Safe location and disposal of asbestos where required.
• Liaise with customers to provide updates and maintain supply.
• Implement trenchless solutions to minimise disruption to the infrastructure.
• Standby may be required on occasions.
