Job summary

Rullion is recruiting an Engineering Manager for Water & Infrastructure. This hybrid role can be based from offices in Manchester, Chester, Leeds, Guildford, London, Nottingham, or Newcastle, with 2 days per week from home. You will lead engineering delivery across water and infrastructure projects, ensuring technical excellence from concept to construction.

The role requires strong leadership, governance capability and a passion for developing high-performing teams within the UK water sector.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector project delivery.
• Strong technical knowledge across water and wastewater treatment assets, pipelines and pumping stations.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams in a consultancy or contractor setting.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical governance, design assurance and engineering oversight.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience.
• Experience managing project resources, budgets and delivery programmes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
• Understanding of British Standards, water industry standards and engineering best practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams delivering projects across water and infrastructure sectors.
• Provide technical leadership and governance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring quality, safety and compliance.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, reports and technical documentation.
• Act as Technical Lead or Design Lead on major projects and frameworks.
• Support planning, resourcing and delivery of projects to programme, budget and quality objectives.
• Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
• Drive collaboration across disciplines to deliver integrated, best-for-project solutions.
• Mentor and develop engineers at all levels, supporting technical excellence.
• Support business development activities, proposal preparation and client engagement opportunities.
• Promote innovation, continuous improvement and application of industry best practice.
• Champion a strong culture of safety, quality and sustainability across project teams.
