Job summary

Rullion Ltd seeks experienced Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineers to lead mechanical design for water projects in Manchester. Hybrid working is available, with roles spanning hands-on design and technical governance across major clean water and wastewater schemes.

The role emphasizes delivering safe, compliant engineering solutions, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with design leads and project teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and professional registration planned/ongoing.
• Experience delivering mechanical designs for UK water projects.
• Strong understanding of drafting practices, construction methods and materials.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical engineering designs meeting safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Develop designs for clean water and wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects.
• Liaise with suppliers, review tender submissions and prepare technical specifications.
• Mentor Engineers, Graduates and CAD Technicians and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams.
