Job summary

Rullion Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and deliver multi-disciplinary water and infrastructure projects across the UK. Hybrid work arrangement with two days from home and base options at listed offices, including Chester.

You will provide technical governance, mentor engineers, manage resources and budgets, and foster client relationships while championing safety, quality and sustainability across project teams.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector project delivery.
  • Strong technical knowledge across water and wastewater treatment assets, pipelines, pumping stations and associated infrastructure.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams within a consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical governance, design assurance and engineering oversight.
  • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience.
  • Experience managing project resources, budgets and delivery programmes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
  • A strong understanding of British Standards, water industry standards and engineering best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Drive collaboration across disciplines to deliver integrated, best-for-project solutions.
  • Mentor, coach and develop engineers at all levels, supporting technical excellence and career progression.
  • Support business development activities, proposal preparation and client engagement opportunities.
  • Promote innovation, continuous improvement and the application of industry best practice.
  • Champion a strong culture of safety, quality and sustainability across project teams.

Engineering Manager - Water & Infrastructure

As my client continue to grow their Water and Infrastructure capability across the UK, we're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join and lead the delivery of technically excellent, multi-disciplinary projects across the water and industrial sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineering professional who combines strong technical expertise with leadership capability and a passion for developing high-performing teams.

About The Role

As an Engineering Manager, you'll provide technical and people leadership across a portfolio of water and infrastructure projects, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design and construction support.

You'll work closely with Project Managers, Design Managers and discipline leads, providing technical governance, design oversight and mentoring to engineering teams while maintaining strong client relationships. You'll play a key role in developing capability within the business and supporting the growth of Water sector offering across the UK.

The role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, reservoirs and associated civil and structural infrastructure.

Ideally, You'll Also Have:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the ICE or another relevant professional institution.
  • Experience working within design and build and/or major UK water frameworks.
  • Experience supporting business growth, work-winning activities and client development.
