Job summary

Rullion is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design projects in the water industry. You will manage design teams, drive technical delivery, and ensure safety and quality across regulated infrastructure programmes.

The role is based mainly from the Manchester office with hybrid working arrangements possible. Key focus areas include mentoring engineers and CAD technicians, developing team capability, and delivering design outputs on time and within budget while using

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in engineering design within a regulated sector
• Water sector experience essential
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Degree or equivalent in engineering
• Strong IT capability and familiarity with modern design tools

Responsibilities

• Lead design process on complex, multidisciplinary water industry projects
• Mentor engineers, CAD technicians and graduates
• Grow and develop the design team and capability
• Shape and improve design processes and procedures
• Ensure design work meets safety, quality and integration requirements
• Drive adoption of BIM and 3D modelling tools
• Deliver design outputs within agreed timescales and budgeted hours
• Record and manage design changes
