Job summary

Tilbury Douglas seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function across water and wastewater projects, ensuring safe, innovative, sustainable solutions aligned with client and regulatory standards.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee feasibility to handover, and drive governance, risk management, and commissioning strategies within D&C NEC4/IChemE frameworks.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE, IMechE, IET or CIWEM.
• 12+ years in water/wastewater delivery with 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience leading engineering and commissioning teams in D&C.
• Strong NEC4, NEC3, IChemE contract knowledge and commercial processes.
• Experience managing technical assurance across multidisciplinary projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to engineering teams across multiple projects.
• Set governance, standards and assurance frameworks for quality and safety.
• Lead design approvals and technical deliverables across scopes.
• Drive innovation, value engineering and digital engineering adoption.
• Oversee feasibility through handover including commissioning strategies.
• Coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical, ICA, process and commissioning disciplines.
• Ensure alignment with client specs, regulations and water industry standards.
• Support commercial teams during contract reviews and procurement.
