Tetra Tech Europe is seeking a Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary water infrastructure design across major water and wastewater schemes and regulated projects. You will coordinate design delivery, manage scope, programme, cost and risk, and work with project managers, engineers, clients and partners.

This hands-on role combines technical leadership, design governance, and project delivery; you will mentor engineers and support innovation while promoting a right-first-time approach.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline with Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Experience delivering water and wastewater projects within multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of the UK water industry, NEC contracts and CDM Regulations (Principal Designer and Designer duties).
• Experience in design governance, technical assurance, stakeholder management and resource coordination.

Responsabilités

• Lead design workstreams, monitor progress and ensure outputs meet programme, cost and quality targets.
• Coordinate design packages and manage engineering resources for safe, compliant delivery.
• Contribute to design assurance, governance and risk management across projects and programmes.
• Collaborate with clients, operational teams, consultants and external partners to balance priorities and maintain relationships.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and design managers to sustain a high-performing team culture.
