AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead water and wastewater design across UK projects. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure high-quality deliverables, and drive innovative solutions while aligning with project milestones and budgets.

The role offers hybrid working across multiple UK locations and opportunities for technical leadership, mentoring, and engaging with diverse clients in the water sector.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering with chartership or eligibility.
• Experience leading design teams in consultancy and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater design standards and regulations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering teams to deliver high-quality water and wastewater designs.
• Oversee production and review of technical deliverables such as reports, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
• Drive technical design inputs on complex multi-disciplinary projects with managed timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with clients, operations, project managers and wider teams to ensure successful outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop technical capability within the team.
• Solve complex engineering challenges with professional judgement and provide guidance.
• Support bid submissions and ensure compliance with design review processes.
