Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior/Principal Design Manager for Design & Build Water projects. Lead multidisciplinary teams and manage design outputs across water infrastructure, including hydraulics and pipelines.

You will drive technical leadership, risk management, bid support, and compliance in a hybrid, multi-office setting. The role requires ICE chartership or progress toward it, extensive leadership of large water schemes, and a proactive, collaborative leadership style aligned with

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Water Engineering with ICE chartership or in progress within 12 months.
• Extensive experience leading large multidisciplinary projects across water.
• Strong design management and water sector expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire engineering teams to deliver complex multidisciplinary design and build projects across water, wastewater, hydraulics and pipelines.
• Manage the development and delivery of design outputs, ensuring milestones, budgets and quality.
• Oversee production, review and approval of technical deliverables including reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work.
• Provide technical leadership across regional and national practices, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
• Develop and strengthen Design Management capabilities for D&B contracts while supporting growth and client relationships.
• Manage design risks, advise clients and project teams, support bid development and apply sound engineering judgement.
• Ensure safety and CDM compliance while leading multidisciplinary teams across locations.
