Job summary

United Utilities in Ellesmere Port is seeking a Field Technical Officer to provide scientific and practical technical input to the Wastewater Production Manager, Process Controllers and Operators. You will ensure assets are managed efficiently within budget and meet regulatory and customer targets.

You will analyse performance data, implement corrective actions, and work with a team to deliver compliance and improved performance across wastewater assets.

Qualifications

• Experience with wastewater treatment processes and best operational practice.
• Ability to monitor and control assets to meet performance targets.
• Strong IT, numerical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse operational performance and identify corrective actions within Health and Safety rules.
• Develop and report action plans for regulatory compliance and internal targets.
• Collaborate with Hub Technical Officers, Process Controllers and Operators to meet standards.
• Provide direction for short- and medium-term operation of wastewater assets.
• Assess workforce scheduling and asset needs to optimise operations.
• Review performance data and reports with the Production Manager.
• Contribute to district information for regulatory returns and EA correspondence.
• Maintain quality assurance documents aligned with requirements.
• Monitor alarm management systems to ensure best practice.
