Job summary

Mansfield District Council in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, is recruiting a Waste Services Assistant Manager to lead the Waste and Recycling teams, delivering services safely and to a high standard for residents.

Reporting to the Waste Services Manager, you will drive performance, manage budgets, oversee safety procedures and respond to issues, with a permanent, full-time contract at Hermitage Lane Depot.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing operational resources.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Experience of risk assessments.
• Leadership/management qualification or equivalent significant experience.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the effective management of Waste and Recycling services, providing leadership to supervisors, team leaders and operatives.
• Drive service improvement, manage performance, promote a positive working culture and support safe working practices across the service.
• Use management information to monitor performance and contribute to service plans and projects.
• Oversee budgets, support commercial waste activity and ensure health and safety procedures are implemented and reviewed.
• Respond to service issues, complaints and out-of-hours operational needs.
