Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is recruiting an Operations Assistant for Waste Services, based at Cromer Road and Federation Road waste transfer stations. This 37-hour-per-week role involves working Monday to Friday with some Bank Holidays and Christmas work.

You will need experience operating industrial machinery and hold a Loadall licence; health and safety knowledge is essential. The post offers hybrid and flexible working options and a strong pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial machinery
• Health and safety knowledge
• Hold a Loadall licence (and a JCB licence would be advantageous)
• Experience of working on a waste depot or operational site

Responsibilities

• Carry out traffic management duties and act as a reversing assistant
• Fully conversant with all machinery and processes
• Able to carry out minor maintenance tasks as and when required
• Work well as part on a team
