Job summary

Mansfield District Council is seeking a Waste Services Assistant Manager to lead the Neighbourhood Services waste and recycling function from Hermitage Lane Depot. This permanent, full-time role reports to the Waste Services Manager and will drive performance, service improvement and safe working practices for residents.

You will manage resources, monitor KPIs, oversee budgets and engage with teams across supervisors, team leaders and operatives, including out-of-hours response.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing operational resources.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Experience of risk assessments.
• Leadership/Management qualification or equivalent significant experience.
• Full driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support effective management of Waste and Recycling services and lead supervisors, team leaders and operatives.
• Use management information to monitor performance and drive improvements.
• Oversee budgets and support commercial waste activity.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are implemented and reviewed.
• Respond to service issues, complaints and out-of-hours needs as required.
