Mansfield District Council have a great opportunity for a Waste Services Assistant Manager to join the team based in Mansfield. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £46,579 - £50,908 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Waste Services Assistant Manager to join Mansfield District Council’s Neighbourhood Services team. Waste and recycling is one of the Council’s most visible frontline services, and this role will help ensure it is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard for our residents.
Reporting to the Waste Services Manager, you will support the effective management of Waste and Recycling services, providing leadership to supervisors, team leaders and operatives. You will help drive service improvement, manage performance, promote a positive working culture and support safe working practices across the service.
You will use management information to monitor performance, contribute to service plans and projects, oversee budgets, support commercial waste activity and ensure health and safety procedures are implemented and reviewed. The role also involves responding to service issues, complaints and out-of-hours operational needs where required.
We are looking for a confident operational leader with strong communication skills, good IT ability and the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload. You should be able to analyse information, solve problems, work effectively as part of a management team and maintain a clear focus on customer service, people management and continuous improvement.
Essential requirements include experience of managing operational resources, knowledge of health and safety legislation, experience of risk assessments, and a relevant leadership and management qualification or equivalent significant experience. A full driving licence is also essential.
This is a permanent, full-time post based at Hermitage Lane Depot. The role may involve work outside normal hours, including evening meetings, weekends, bank holidays and participation in an on-call rota.
