Job summary

CIWMjobs in Dudley seeks an experienced Environmental & Compliance Manager to own regulatory compliance across waste and recycling operations. You will lead permitting, liaise with regulators and support site expansion.

The role requires hands-on management of permits, exemptions, and classifications, plus driving ISO 14001 and other management systems, with strong communication across management teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental/compliance within waste management or recycling sectors.
• Knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations in waste/recycling.
• Experience dealing with Environment Agency.
• Understanding of waste movements and downstream outlet compliance.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and translating regulation into action.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental permits, exemptions, variations and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with waste and environmental legislation and digital waste tracking.
• Maintain oversight of waste classifications and documentation.
• Liaise with Environment Agency and regulators.
• Support planning, permitting and requirements for new sites and expansion projects.
• Support integrated management systems including ISO and 45001.
• Advise operations on environmental compliance and regulatory change.
