Smartsearch Recruitment in Dudley is seeking an experienced Environmental & Compliance Manager to join a growing waste management, recycling and resource recovery business. You will take hands-on responsibility for environmental compliance across multiple local operations and help manage future development projects.

Reporting to a Director, you will manage permits, liaise with the Environment Agency, support ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 systems, and translate regulatory changes into practical

Qualifications

• Previous environmental/compliance experience within the waste management, recycling or resource recovery sector is required.
• Knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations within waste/recycling.
• Experience dealing with Environment Agency and regulatory bodies.
• Understanding of waste movements and downstream outlet compliance.

Responsibilities

• Managing environmental permits, exemptions, variations and related regulatory requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with waste/environmental legislation, including digital waste tracking.
• Maintaining oversight of waste classifications, codes, documentation, movements and downstream outlets.
• Liaising with the Environment Agency and other regulatory bodies.
• Managing water discharge consents and other environmental notifications.
• Supporting planning, permitting and environmental requirements for new sites and expansion projects.
• Supporting ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
• Advising teams on environmental compliance and regulatory change.
