Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking a Waste Infrastructure Team Lead to manage the Waste Transfer Station Team and ensure the council’s waste, recycling and depot infrastructure is well managed and future-ready. The role will oversee the Household Recycling Centre contract at New Inn, manage assets, inspections and compliance with environmental permits and health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste, depot or asset management at management or supervisory level.
• Certificate of Technical Competence in Waste Management or equivalent.
• Strong IT, communication, organisational and performance management skills.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the contract for the management of the Household Recycling Centre and Waste Transfer Station at New Inn.
• Manage the Waste Transfer Station Team, stock, plant and equipment and ensure robust inspection and asset-management systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits, health and safety requirements and Environmental Management Plans.
• Collaborate with contractors, off-takers and external partners to support depot improvements and EV charging provision.
• Develop staff, support health, safety and wellbeing, and handle competing priorities effectively.
