Job summary

WR Environmental seeks an experienced Site Manager to oversee operations at our transfer station and depot in Hinckley, UK. You will lead site teams, manage plant and vehicle fleet, and ensure compliance with environmental permits and health and safety standards.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, with a focus on operational efficiency, cost control, and accurate reporting. The role offers a competitive salary circa £55,000 (DOE) and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with a Waste Management Company.
• Experience in Transfer Station and/or Depot Management.
• Strong demonstrable leadership experience.
• Health & Safety knowledge (IOSH/NEBOSH desirable).
• Transport Manager CPC desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with environmental permits, health and safety regulations, and authority standards.
• Lead and manage all site operations, including transfer station, depot, and vehicle fleet.
• Drive operational efficiency and cost reduction with KPIs and P&L accountability.
• Oversee staff recruitment, planning, training and performance management.
• Develop and grow the business by identifying opportunities and ensuring accurate invoicing/reporting.
