Job summary

Cardiff Council is recruiting for a Pool Operative in the Domestic Team to collect waste and recycling across Cardiff. The role includes loading and driving duties, requiring physical fitness and the ability to maintain assigned vehicles.

The successful candidate will have a Class 2 Driving Licence, training or knowledge of manual handling and a strong focus on Health & Safety. You must be adaptable to outdoor conditions and follow council policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Class 2 Driving License is essential.
• Experience of manual handling operations.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Collect waste and recycling materials throughout Cardiff.
• Act as loader and driver as required by the service.
• Drive and maintain the allocated vehicle to facilitate waste collections.
• Be physically fit and able to operate under Council Policies and Procedures.
