Job summary

5 Star Recruitment is seeking a Waste and Recycling Level 1 Driver in Wales. You will work as part of a recycling and waste operatives team, collecting domestic and trade waste on designated rounds and driving a collection vehicle safely and efficiently.

The role requires an HGV/LGV (category C) license, basic health and safety knowledge, good communication, and the ability to work in varied weather and on unsocial hours. Welsh language skills are desirable. No DBS check is mentioned.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification or relevant experience in waste & recycling collection systems. Safety on the Highway.
• HGV/LGV full driving license, category C.
• Health and Safety Certificate to a minimum standard of IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent or commitment to work towards achievement of this certificate.
• Willingness to undertake appropriate waste, health & safety or quality training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect domestic and trade waste and recycling on designated rounds.
• Drive and maintain the collection vehicle in a roadworthy condition and report defects.
• Promote recycling and provide guidance to the public.
• Operate and use handheld devices (PDAs) for reporting and records.
• Work with the team to ensure health and safety compliance on site.
• Attend mandatory training as instructed by supervision.
