Job summary

Cardiff Council is recruiting for four Pool Operative Driver positions within the Neighbourhood Services Team. You will support cleansing operations across the city, operating small mechanical sweepers and street washing fleet, with shifts including nights and weekends.

Successful candidates will hold a full valid C1 driving licence, have experience in manual handling, and deliver excellent customer service while recording tasks on tablets and keeping accurate records.

Qualifications

• Understanding risk assessment, working time directive and workplace instructions.
• Experience with manual handling and health & safety guidance in the workplace.
• Experience in a face-to-face customer service environment.
• Ability to input data on technology and keep records accurately.
• Able to stay calm, polite and courteous with customers.
• Willingness to attend training courses relevant to the role.
• Full valid C1 driving licence to operate sweepers and vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes.

Responsibilities

• Support cleansing operations and tasks across the city.
• Operate vehicles and respond to service requests and complaints.
• Carry out manual handling and health & safety compliance.
• Maintain records and document work using tablets or smartphones.
• Work outdoors in all weather and adapt to changing priorities.
