Job summary

Cyngor Sir Ceredigion County Council in Aberystwyth is recruiting Relief Environmental Operatives 3 to join the busy Waste Collection Service at Glanyrafon Depot.

You will undertake frontline collections of recycling, food waste, residual waste and glass, driving Refuse Collection Vehicles, loading materials and emptying litter bins.

The post may involve working with the wider Local Environmental Services team, lone working, outdoor duties in all weather, and basic maintenance tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Experience of physical/manual work.
• Experience of working in a team environment.
• Experience of lone working.
• Experience of driving HGVs (Heavy Goods Vehicles).

Responsibilities

• Driving Refuse Collection Vehicles.
• Loading of refuse and recycling materials onto vehicles as required.
• Emptying litter bins.
• Assist with works in the wider Local Environmental Services team as required.
• Undertaking physical activities that include lifting, sweeping, stretching and bending.
• Working outside in all weathers.
