Job summary

DHL in Trafford Park, Manchester is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to guide a busy team and drive operational excellence across productivity, quality, safety and service targets.

You will delegate tasks via the WMS, monitor shift activity, ensure health and safety compliance, and support reporting. The role includes covering First Line Manager duties when needed and requires hands-on leadership on the shop floor.

Warehouse Team Leader Pay Rate: £35,000.00 Grade: RCS O Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: 4 on, 4 off (2 day shifts 7am - 7pm, followed by 2 night shifts 7pm - 7am) Location: Trafford Park - M17 1TD

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to join our busy operation in Trafford Park. In this role, you'll lead and support a team to deliver operational excellence, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and service targets are achieved. What You'll Do

• Lead and support the warehouse operation by delegating tasks, allocating work through the WMS, and monitoring shift activity to ensure productivity and service targets are achieved
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and operational standards, carrying out regular audits and promoting a safe working environment for all colleagues
• Act as the first point of contact for colleague queries, providing day-to-day support, guidance and escalation where required
• Oversee stock accuracy and dispatch processes, including stock-taking activities, checking dispatch documentation, and investigating discrepancies
• Produce end-of-shift reports and provide operational support on the warehouse floor, stepping up to cover First Line Manager responsibilities when required

This Role Would Suit People Who

• Previous experience within a warehouse or supply chain environment, with proven Team Leader or Supervisory experience essential
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to accurately complete reports, audits, and operational documentation
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems and confidence working with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook
• Hands-on approach with a willingness to work on the shop floor, supporting operational activities and leading by example
• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence essential (RTITB or ITSSAR accredited), Reach Truck licence is desirable
