Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Coventry is seeking an Operations Team Leader to supervise a fast-paced warehousing team. You will oversee picking, packing and sorting, manage workloads, and monitor KPIs to drive efficiency. You will report on performance and coordinate daily productivity while maintaining safety standards.

The role involves direct customer contact and using our in-house tracking software to keep records up to date. A strong communicator with WMS experience is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be a strong communicator with clear written and verbal skills.
• Practical knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is essential.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities; able to supervise and train others.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff responsible for picking, packing and sorting in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage workloads and review KPIs to ensure targets are met.
• Provide reporting on warehousing activities and performance in your area.
• Coordinate productivity and communicate job expectations to direct reports.
• Track and trace orders using in-house tracking software and maintain records.
• Handle direct customer contact via emails and phone calls.

We're now looking for a Operations Team Leader to play a key role at the centre of our fulfilment operation.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE?

• overseeing and managing the staff who are tasked with picking, packing and sorting of orders in a fast-paced environment
• Managing workloads and reviewing KPI's
• To directly assist the Senior Management team by reporting on and monitoring the effectiveness of all warehousing activities and performance in your designated area
• To supervise, implement and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames, always maintaining standards of excellence
• To track and trace orders using a digital In-house tracking software system, ensuring that records are maintained and kept at optimum level
• will also involve customer contact directly both in terms of emails and calls

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO?

• Strong communicator - both written and verbal
• Computer literate with a practical knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems is essential
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports.
