Job summary

Saab UK, Fareham Introduction, is seeking a Stores Operative to handle goods inwards, stock locations, and order picking within a busy warehouse environment. You will process receipts, label stock, and prepare items for courier collections, ensuring high accuracy and adherence to safety guidelines.

The role requires previous warehouse experience, ability to work at height, exposure to ERP systems, and a proactive, learn-fast attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous Warehouse/Stores experience is desired.
• Experience of working at height is required.
• Experience with ERP systems is required.
• Forklift experience is desirable.
• Enthusiastic and hardworking attitude.
• Willing to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Receive goods and materials in line with the MRP schedule.
• Process all goods receipt documentation and scanning; resolve booking-in issues with purchasing and ensure non-stock orders are delivered.
• Locate stock in correct locations; ensure safe storage and proper stock rotation.
• Label and pack stock to be easily identifiable and contamination-free.
• Pick work orders and sales orders using picking lists with high accuracy.
• Perform general stores tasks: loading, unloading, sorting, cleaning, stock movements.
• Follow manual handling guidelines and use lifting equipment as appropriate.
• Keep yard organised, clean, and stock stored by size; maintain COSHH cabinet and oil store.
• Assist with waste collection as required by the business.
• Respond to enquires with appropriate urgency and accuracy.
• Process online store requisitions accurately and promptly.
• Maintain high stock accuracy and report discrepancies to the Materials Supervisor.
• Ensure systems and sales orders are packed and labelled for courier collections.
• Order crates and packing materials to meet system, production, and internal deadlines.
• Undertake any other duties as required by the Head of Unit.
