Job summary

Bis Henderson is seeking a Warehouse/Production Shift Supervisor for its Coventry site. The role covers night shifts (6pm–6am) on a 3-on, 3-off pattern, averaging about 40.25 hours per week. You will lead and develop a team of up to 20, ensuring health, safety, quality and stock control are maintained.

Salary ranges from £33,000 to £45,000 per year, with benefits. You will manage labour, shipping/receiving, and site performance, reporting to the Site Manager.

Warehouse/Production Shift Supervisor

Night Shift | 3 on, 3 off | 6pm - 6am

Are you an experienced Shift Supervisor, Warehouse Manager or Operations Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment?

We're looking for a confident and driven Warehouse/Production Shift Supervisor to take ownership of the full site operation during the night shift at our Coventry site.

Working on a 3-on, 3-off pattern from 6.00pm to 6.00am, averaging 40.25 hours per week, you'll lead the operation through the night, ensuring people, processes and performance are all operating effectively.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll have real responsibility for the shift, from managing and developing your team through to maintaining high standards across safety, quality, stock and operational performance.

What you’ll be doing

• Taking full responsibility for the site operation during your shift
• Leading, motivating and developing a team of up to 20 employees and agency workers
• Planning and organising labour to ensure operational requirements are met
• Overseeing shipping and receiving activity, stock movements and stock control
• Managing vehicle servicing requirements and wider site activities
• Driving shift performance, productivity and quality
• Completing shift reports, trackers and performance updates
• Managing people-related matters including return-to-work meetings, investigations, disciplinary processes, holiday approvals, welfare and general staff management
• Ensuring all Health & Safety, quality and environmental standards are maintained
• Carrying out safety and quality checks and delivering team briefings
• Ensuring accidents and near misses are reported, investigated and followed through with appropriate corrective action
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and increase operational efficiency
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping and site standards
• Working closely with customers, suppliers, contractors, agency providers and internal teams
• Working autonomously and providing clear communication to the Site Manager on operational issues and opportunities

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with proven operational leadership experience who is comfortable taking ownership and making decisions in a busy, fast-paced environment.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience leading teams within FMCG, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, production or a similar environment
• Strong people and performance management experience
• Experience working in a shift-based operation
• A confident, hands-on approach and the ability to lead from the front
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• The ability to manage detail while keeping sight of the bigger operational picture
• A strong focus on Health & Safety and quality
• Good IT skills, including Excel, Word, Teams and operational reporting systems
• The drive and resilience to take on challenges and improve the operation
• A genuine team-player mentality with the confidence to lead, motivate and develop others

Experience within an FMCG environment would be advantageous, although we open to candidates from other fast-paced, process-driven operational backgrounds.
