Job summary

Bis Henderson Recruitment is seeking a Nights Warehouse Shift Manager for a busy FMCG distribution centre in Greenford. This fixed-term role covers peak trading until 31 January 2027, reporting into the Senior Warehouse Logistics & Fulfilment Manager.

You will lead the night team and ensure targets for productivity, quality and service are met. You will operate on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern from 8pm to 7am, requiring strong leadership, hands-on decision-making and a focus on safety and

Nights Warehouse Shift Manager (FTC) - FMCG Distribution Centre, Greenford

Fixed-Term Contract to cover peak trading until 31st January 2027

Are you an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager with a background in FMCG, retail, e-commerce or another fast-paced distribution environment, who is happy to work nights?

Do you have the leadership skills to build a high-performing team while driving operational performance, productivity and continuous improvement?

We are currently recruiting for a Nights Warehouse Shift Manager to take ownership of a key shift within a busy FMCG distribution operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes and delivering consistently high operational standards.

Role Overview

This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity reporting into the Senior Warehouse Logistics & Fulfilment Manager and working alongside a wider team of operational leaders.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the night operation, leading a team of warehouse colleagues and ensuring the shift delivers against key productivity, quality, service and operational targets.

The role operates on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern 8pm-7am

What you will be responsible for

• Take full operational responsibility for the day-to-day running of the warehouse on your shift
• Lead, motivate and develop your team to achieve challenging productivity, quality and service targets
• Effectively manage the night shift team, identifying development opportunities and recognising strong performance
• Create and maintain a positive, engaged team culture, encouraging colleagues to contribute ideas and improvements
• Monitor operational performance and take appropriate action to address issues and maintain standards
• Communicate effectively with senior management, providing clear updates, insight and operational information
• Drive continuous improvement across warehouse processes, systems and productivity
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and ways of working
• Ensure health & safety, compliance and operational standards are consistently maintained
• Work collaboratively with other shift leaders and operational functions to ensure a consistent approach across the site

What you will need

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Shift Manager, Logistics Shift Manager or similar within a large, fast-paced distribution environment
• Experience within FMCG, retail, e-commerce, 3PL or a similar high-volume operation
• Strong people management and leadership skills, with experience managing, developing and motivating warehouse teams
• The ability to manage conflicting priorities and plan effectively within a demanding operational environment
• A strong understanding of warehouse KPIs, productivity and operational performance
• Experience of driving continuous improvement and implementing change
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage with colleagues at all levels
• A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to make decisions and take ownership of operational challenges
